| 1 :- SHS Class of 1982 Launches Website | July 15, 2005
SANFORD HIGH SCHOOL
CLASS OF 1982
LAUNCHES WEBSITE
Sanford, Maine. Sanford High's Class of 1982 is among a few classes in the United States to launch an official website. Developed by Class President, Dr. David Bernier with the artistic talent of Helpful.com, the website is probably the most comprehensive website nationally dedicated to their alumni.
The website, www.SanfordHigh1982.com, is a central source for classmates to access and determine upcoming Reunion information, reminisce over photos of classmates (past and present), review comprehensive contact information, and a link for classmates to communicate to the Class President about address changes or even ideas for future reunions. "My mother and I, along with many classmates, have spent many hours searching for classmates over the years and this is a perfect venue for classmates to review their address and periodically notify us of address changes, said Dave Bernier."
According to Dr. Bernier, "all classmates will receive a letter within the next couple weeks informing them of the website, how to update address information, and to get the word out to classmates that we have this awesome website."
Helpful.com may be contacted via the internet or 1-800-318-4600. Information about the website may be directed to Dave Bernier at (207) 651-0221.

| | 5 :- In Memorium - Richard Bell | In Memoriam Richard Bell 1964 - 2006 An excerpt from an e-mail written by Richard's sister, Kimberly: Richard suffered a stroke in 2001 and was diagnosed with Leukemia in April 2006. He fought it for 4 months before they finally said that his body had been through too much and he couldn't fight it anymore. He had contracted a serious infection too - he was stuck in a catch 22, the chemo would have wiped out the rest of his immune system, then the infection would take over, or he could fight the infection and let the cancer take over. They let him go home at the beginning of August. We were able to get his mom (we had the same dad but different mom's), our other sister and his boys here for a visit while he was able to enjoy it. He tired very easily but he kept up as best he could. Dad & I took turns staying with him and caring for him, he wasn't able to walk very far—a hallway once a day was about it.
He was still bossy though! :) One thing that never changed through everything he had been through, his sense of humor - and stubbornness! He still wanted things done his way!! After making the beds in the morning, he would give a quick inspection and I had to get it just right for him! :) We miss him terribly, but he had been through more than enough in his lifetime. Here's a photo we took of him and his boys, From left to right: David 16 (yes with long hair, he was Richard's youngest), Richard is sitting down, Junior 17 (Richard III is sitting on the floor, he is the 'middle' child), then Alex 22, his stepson. He was so happy to be able to see his boys. I am holding his ashes for now. He wants to be buried in the new VA cemetery that is going in Springvale...it's still a couple of years from being finished. When it is finished, we will have a small burial. He was definitely one of a kind, not someone you would ever forget once you met him. |
| | 6 :- Jeannine Forest Landry Releases CD of Lubbabies |
Sanford native releases CD of lullabies
SANFORD - Jeannine Landry gave her children a Christmas gift from the heart this year. The Sanford native has just released "A Mother's Love," a compact disc composed of original lullabies Landry has sung to her four children.
"1 always wanted to put them together to give my kids a gift," says Landry in a telephone interview from her Londonderry, N.H. home. She originally intended to just sing her original compositions, but as she was working with the arranger, Landry kept hearing other instruments in her head. "1 just went for it," she says of her decision to publicly release the CD.
Singing has been part of her life since she was young, says Landry. The middle child of Denis and Simone Forest's brood of six, Landry remembers old fashioned family sing-a-longs on every holiday. "We'd stand around the piano and sing French-Canadian songs," she says. Her uncle, Armand Forest, played piano, her father played harmonica and her cousin Christopher strummed the guitar.
Landry's only formal musical training was singing in the chorus at Sanford High School, where she graduated from in 1982. She credits music teacher Diana Waterman, then Tommasello, with realizing her potential. "She must have seen something 1 didn't know 1 had." After graduating from Sanford High and the University of Maine, Landry moved to Londonderry with her husband Randall. The couple now has four children: Maria, 12; Ryan, 10; Peter, 6, and Mark, 4. They are expecting a fifth child in February.
The project is a true family affair. Not only are her children featured on the CD, but Landry is also accompanied on the compact discs by two other relatives, both from Sanford. Her cousin, Vanessa Legere, plays violin in the song, "You're a Gift." The daughter of Richard and Linda Legere, she has played with the Portland Symphony Orchestra.
Another cousin, Nicole Forest Gaudette, did all the graphic design work for the CD. She is the daughter of Claude and Barbara Forest of Springvale and attended the University of Hartford Art School. All those who contributed are pictured on the CD.
Landry composed the music and wrote the lyrics for all the songs. "I used to write poems as a child," says Landry, who began writing songs nine years ago when her youngest child, Maria was 3. "Now my poems are lyrics. "
The disk contains 15 songs that softly flow like Celtic or New Age ballads. The strains of violin and flute are a strong accompaniment to Landry's alto voice as she sings about tucking her kids into bed, rain on the roof, and her love for her children.
When asked about what influences her music, Landry replied, "God sent me all those songs. We're in a partnership together."
Copies of A Mother's Love are $15 and can be ordered by writing to Landry at 19 Lawson Farm Rd., Londonderry, N.H., 03053.
In addition, Landry wrote a song called "A Time to Pray", commemorating the events of Sept. 11. The $7 purchase price will benefit the families of victims. |

| | 8 :- Missing Classmate e-Mail Addresses | We would like everyone's e-Mail addresses, for many reasons. In July 2007, those classmates who had e-Mail addresses on record received information about a serious accident Alan Nichols had, his medical status in intensive care, etc. God forbid, but if we hear of a death in our class, or other timely piece of information, we could inform everyone quickly and show our class support and proper respect.

Brian P. Lasante
November 10, 1963 - December 13, 2008
Brian P. Lasante, 45, of Burbank Lane in Sanford, died in Wells on December 13, 2008.
Brian was born in Sanford on November 10, 1963 a son of Paul A. and Geri C. (Bourque) Lasante and with four sisters and one brother, grew up in a busy and active household. He attended local schools and following graduation from Sanford High School, Brian took to the open road and headed to Florida. While living in the South, he expanded his cooking skills and was employed as a chef. Following a few years of working in the restaurant business, Brian traveled once again to the Lone Star State, Texas and became a skilled building contractor.
In 1998, Brian moved his family back to Maine, to give his three daughters the same opportunity of growing up in a small town; surrounded by cousins, grandparents, aunts, uncles and friends. He possessed a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone which was apparent by the sacrifices he made for his daughters. Being a Dad, his girls said he was a great shopper and up with the latest styles when it came to buying their clothes. He loved having a house full of friends and his four legged companion Dusty was always by his side. Brian enjoyed classic rock –n-roll music and will be remembered for being strong willed and independent.
He is lovingly survived by his three daughters, Ashley Lasante and best friend, Samantha Barnett of Sanford; Korey and Shawna Lasante both of Sanford; his parents, Paul Lasante of Parsonsfield and Geri Pendexter of Sanford; one brother, James Lasante and wife Lisa of Shapleigh; four sisters, Lynn Wakefield and husband Robert of Sanford; Christine Blier and husband John of Sanford; Tricia Castaldo and husband Christopher of Scarborough and Theresa Lasante of Sanford; his many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and best friend, John Elliott.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Edgar and Jeannette Lasante and his maternal grandparents, Rene and Germaine Bourque; his stepmother, CarolAnn Lasante in 2006; by his stepfather, Barry Lee Pendexter in 2002, and by his baby daughter, Hope.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, Dec. 18th from 6 – 8 p.m. at the Autumn Green Funeral Home, 47 Oak Street, in Alfred, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Rick Leach, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the David's Fund, York County Federal Credit Union, 1516 Main Street, Sanford, ME 04073. This fund was established to help families with funeral options.
